She Likes the Purr

Central Park South

By far the most popular portion of the part, this area is designed for entertainment. The calm before the storm, and what connects this area to the lake, is Sheep Meadow. This meadow is the finest open expanse in the park and is often times used as a great picnic location.

A zoo, which also contains a petting zoo for children, allows for family fun. Perfectly located next to the zoo is a large carousel. The seats for those riding are not mere seats, nor are they all horses. From griffin to dragon, multiple mythological creatures are available to choose from.

Samira Bastet Kieran Collins

Sneaking into the park, and more specifically the zoo, after dark is child's play. Sometimes Kieran misses the days when something as simple as leaping a fence and sticking to the shadows was a challenge; sometimes … he doesn't. Age has its perks and privileges.
For this foray, he's dressed down, simple dark jeans and a gray long sleeved t-shirt, topped over with a leather jacket, a checkered fedora on top of his head. A bag is slung over one shoulder, the contents of which make no noise when he moves stealthily about the grounds, sticking to the shadows, so well and carefully packed is the bag. Kieran blends in the shadows, staying of the security lighting, and moving quickly enough to not spook or annoy most of the animals.
He's on a mission and it doesn't take long to find what, or rather whom, he's looking for. She's carefully hidden in the shadows, and Kieran senses more than sees her, and that's only because he knows where to look.
He approaches slowly, but not in any effort to surprise or sneak up on her. "You're getting predictable in your old age, luv." The words are quietly spoken, laced through with teasing and lightness.

~

The snow leopard beyond the fence balks at the intrusion, and it takes only a few softly spoken words in her original language to calm the beast. A delicate hand dips into the bag on the ground by her feet, and she tosses the rabbit carcass through the fence. "Calm yourself, Bo. The intruder means you no harm."
Turning away from the fence, Samira eyes Kieran with his dark clothing and fedora. Her eyes travel appraisingly over his body before she chuckles. "You are dressed for the wrong era." Primarily it is a tease, because he looks striking in that get up.
"To what do I owe the pleasure?"

~

Kieran cocks his head to look at the leopard, not threatening, just observant, one predator to another, and then dismisses the creature's reaction with a roll of his shoulders. He doesn't have an affinity for cats, which suits him just fine. There are other ways to dominate animals, and predators recognize one another.
He's not here to torment Samira's favorite snow leopard, however, or any of the animals for that matter. He rakes his eyes over her, noticeably so, because he has no reason to play at being subtle or coy. "You're not dressed for survelliance, though it's certainly not harmful to the eyes."
Dropping gracefully to perch on the low wall, Kieran swings the bag around to the ground in front of him. "Would you believe I just missed your company?"

~

"Should I don a long trench coat, and a black ski mask?" Samira tuts, and shakes her head with amusement. "I should think that would be rather obvious." As a different leopard comes to the fence, she reaches into the bag once more and rolls her eyes. "I'd hardly forget you, Zoe." Another rabbit carcass is tossed into the cage, before she turns her attention back to Kieran.
"Is that so? Here I thought you saw me so often, you'd be sick of me by now."

~

"You've been listening to the horrible gossips. I don't bore that easily." Kieran winks at her. "Not when the company is interesting at least." The bimbos and blood bags that he totes around on his arm are another matter entirely.
Unzipping the bag, the younger of the vampires reaches inside and produces a wine bottle and two heavy plastic wine chalices. They look to be made of glass, but he's not that foolish. "I brought dinner, or if you've already eaten, dessert and conversation."

~

Samira nods to the benches not far from the cages. While having a glass of bloodwine is all well and good, the scent of blood may send the predatory animals nearby into a bit of a frenzy, and she would rather not have to expend a great deal of energy calming them all down. She has an ease with those of the feline persuasion, but the other animals have never been quite as easy for her as it was for Marcus.
"That is very thoughtful." Moreso that he would know where to find her, than the fact that he brought dinner to her.

~

Being observant has never been an issue for Kieran. He might act the role of the naive, daft man-whore who only thinks with his penis, but there is a brain in his head and he uses it quite frequently. It never hurts to know the habits of your allies; besides, his position requires that he's a bit more aware of the movements of others. Not that he thinks Samira is a danger or challenge to Xander, but it's more habit than anything else.
"Thoughtful. That's my middle name." Kieran flashes her a grin, easily snags the glasses by the stem, and the bottle by the neck in his other hand, and begins to move to where she indicated. "Along with dashing, charming and incredibly irresistible."
Uncapping the wine, Kieran pours them both a glass and holds one out to Samira.

~

The stem of the glass is gripped lightly before she seats herself. Samira is a little bit of an anomaly, in that she's not as reclusive or animalistic as the brethren of her bloodline. Her time with Alexandros has taught her quite well.
"Indeed."
Swirling the glass around just a little, she takes a sip and then draws her legs up under her on the bench. "It is unnerving him, the way the bodies are unnecessarily piling up without him knowing who is responsible. Your Child is doing well with the Priory, but we need to put an end to this sooner rather than later."

~

That is what Kieran likes about Samira. She plays along with his idle flirtation, but she knows very well why he is here, and is happy to easily cut to the chase.
"My sentiments exactly." Kieran sniffs the drink, savoring the smell of it before taking a sip. He lets that linger on his tongue and then swallows. He was noble born and bred, and no matter what role he assumes, that breeding does often push to the fore. "The lack of clues is a problem, and I can only do so much. My hands are tied when he's still trying to even keep this quiet among our kind. I can't get information when there's no knowledge that there's information to glean. I have ears out but … they're not hearing anything. Possibly they won't until someone spooks, and that won't happen until we make it more public."
Beat.
"I can't make that call, but maybe together, we can get him to see it."
Kieran takes another drink from the glass, and continues. "The Priory is starting to look at this being one of us gone rogue, and apparently, they have a new player. If Ashcroft is bringing in outside help, he's going to dig, and we need to solve this before he does."

~

"Then set out other ears. Glamour a few of the police that monitor the parks at night to watch for anything." Samira dips her finger into the wine glass, swirling the liquid around in a lazy manner. Thoroughly covered in the bloodwine, she raises it upward and trails it over her lips. Gliding her tongue in the wake of her finger, she keeps her eyes locked on Kieran's.
"Tonight, I will be engaging the help of a few furry friends."
A rogue has come to her mind in the past. "I will attempt to speak with Alexandros about the matter." Samira can understand his wariness about revealing what is happening to the vampires of the city. Until they are aware who is doing it, and why, it will look like a coup, and have people choosing up sides.
"Tell me of this outside help."

~

Kieran raises a brow and gives his head a slight cant to the side. It isn't as though he hasn't done that, and have a few homeless on the lookout as well, but someone (or something) is covering its tracks a bit too good for Kieran's liking.
His blue eyes track her fingers movements from over the rim of his glass as he drinks from it, but he doesn't comment on what flickers through his mind. Instead, he gives a casual, rolling shrug of his shoulders. "London bloke, from the London branch of the Priory. Ashcroft either called in reinforcements or someone out there thought he needed them. Name is Blackwell and I've got a few people following up and finding out everything that we can." He's not without his contacts, and a well paid and glamoured hacker or two can be beneficial above and beyond Desmond, the baby vamp security and computing wizard they have here in the city. It does pay to keep abreast of The Priory as much as they keep abreast of vampire movements and actions.
"Sera is going to find out more." Kieran shifts, gaze rolling briefly toward the leopards and then back to Samira. "She's really best placed to do that."

~

"British?" A slight wrinkle can be seen on the bridge of Samira's nose, which she quickly quells into something more neutral. "Yes, of course. She is very well suited for the task. I will keep Alexandros abreast of the situation." Many people may call him 'Xander' these days, but she is not about to insult her Maker's best friend by assuming a more familiar term.
"What we need when we glamour people in the park are anti-glamour charms so that they cannot be glamoured again by someone else."

~

"Apparently so, and quite 'tasty' according to Sera." Kieran seems most amused by that. His Child is a restless one and is easily bored with her toys. In this case, all things considered, that's probably a good thing.
"Do you happen to have a witch in your pocket?"The words come quick, a teasing smile on Kieran's lips, because that is the one place where they are lacking. Money and glamour are quite well, but things are a bit trickier when it comes to magic users.
Sadly, there have been times in the past when Kieran has had a witch in his pocket (or rather his bed), but this is not one of those times. Still …
"Sera does think this Blackwell bloke might be a sorcerer. I wouldn't openly suggest such a thing to Ashcroft, but I'm sure that it could be managed through the proper channels." If it's Sera's idea, then it doesn't look as though it's coming from Kostas' court.

~

An eyebrow arches upward as Samira laughs. "Leave it to your Child to find a scrumptious meal while she is in the midst of a crisis." Rather amusing, really, but then Serafine is definitely her Maker's Child.
"Witches generally do not fit in my pocket." Dipping her finger into the bloodwine again, Samira swirls it as she considers. "There are those in the Undercity that would sell charms to us." Pausing, she tilts her head slowly to the right and then repeats painting her lips with the viscous liquid.
"We could contact Regina Young and hire one of the witches from the Coven."

~

Kieran can't help but laugh at Samira's assessment. It is very much something Sera - and Kieran - would do.
"If only they did," Kieran laments. "Imagine all of the fun things I could do with an instant witch always on hand."
Tapping a finger against the side of the glass, Kieran considers. "In the black market, maybe, but you know what it's like trying to openly do business with a magic user." They're not overly fond of vampires. "Even the black market is no guarantee."
He thinks of Regina Young and considers. The woman is brash and no-nonense, but she has been willing to work with vampires, when it's been of benefit and not harm to her witches and the people of the city.
"God, I miss the days of doing as we damn well please," Kieran laments dryly. Of course, they still could, but he has to grudgingly admit that a war between vampires vs werewolves vs sorcerers vs witches wouldn't be exactly fun.
"Do you think she would?"
Beat.
"You do realize I'm starting to be a bit jealous of that wine, luv."

~

"Tut. If you had an instant witch constantly on hand, I think we may have to be on the look for a new Sheriff." Samira's voice is full of a melodious tease, and a slight chuckle can be heard after her statement.
"There are other means of locating what it is we need besides the black market." Places that most vampires shy away from due to the abundance of magic users (primarily the sorcerers). "Though if we can find alternate means, all the better."
At Kieran's words, she winks at him and slides the digit between her lips, sucking it slowly clean.
"I do believe Regina Young owes us a favor."

~

Kieran chuckles softly and flashes the older vampire a rakish grin. "Surely, I'm not that terrible."
Watching the finger rise to her lips, Kieran mock snaps his teeth in her direction, and teasing light on his eyes to match the grin on his lips. He knows of the favor, but calling it in means that they don't have leverage for later. Still, things are getting desperate.
"Maybe I should call on her?" He's not certain how receptive Regina will be to him, being who and what he is, but he prides himself on having his charm as his primary weapon.

~

"I can move much more quickly than you can," Samira points out with a laugh. "You'd never catch my finger." Reaching toward him, she snaps for his wrist and begins to draw it toward her.
"I would be loathe to call in the favor, unless it becomes an absolute necessity. Perhaps I can convince Ewan to locate a pretty little witch for us, and you can charm her senseless. Though he would have to ensure she was not part of the Coven, or we'd risk upsetting Regina, and the favor would be lost anyhow."
Dipping Kieran's finger into her wine, she swirls it around a little, eyes sparkling with a bit of wry amusement. "Then again, we could just pay the Coven for the charm work, and the favor would remain intact."

~

"Don't you know that it's not polite to brag about your prowess?" Kieran looks mock offended, but it only lasts a heartbeat. He's not one to ever talk about arrogance or bragging.
The vampire offers no resistance as she draws in his wrist, nor when she dips his finger in the wine. "Ewan does have a scent for that sort of thing. Though finding a witch that isn't somehow affliated with Regina and her Coven is easier said than done." Kieran rolls his eyes dramatically. "Not as though I'd do any permanent damage. The woman is too protective and paranoid."
Lifting his finger, he traces it along her lower lip. "Ah, yes, I suppose if you have a ken to do things the easy way."

~

"Not particularly." Samira nips a fang against her lower lip, but otherwise her expression is unchanged. Giving his finger another swirl in the bloodwine, she smirks. "Despite how Alexandros is able to keep me calm, it really isn't in my blood." Swirling her tongue over the drop of blood her fang has produced, she locks her eyes to Kieran's and delicately lifts his finger from the glass.
"However," she says, hovering his finger just above her lip, "We have enough problems at the moment without being on the receiving end of Regina's anger."
At that, she slides the digit between her lips, swirling her tongue over it the entire time, enjoying the taste of the bloodwine as it tickles her tastebuds. Slowly, she draws his finger from her mouth, releasing it with a teasingly loud pop.

~

"Then I am all for the witch approach." Meaning the glamouring one senseless so that she's wrapped around Kieran's finger. His blue eyes are twinkling and there's a look of absolute devilment on his face, but he's not entirely joking. "At least let me keep that as Plan C."
The amusement in his eyes slowly dims as he watches her, the devilment being swallowed up by something a little more primal and less playful. Kieran's eyes never leave her face as she sucks on the digit, and when she releases it, he swiftly grabs her wrist, bringing it up to scrape across the sensitive inner skin with his fangs.
"Yes, we do," Kieran breathes against her skin. "Starting with not letting The Priory get ahead of us on this." His tongue darts out and gives her wrist a quick lick.

~

"You may keep it as a Plan C," she agrees. Samira simply hopes that Plan A doesn't fail, because letting the Priory figure things out before they do really cannot be allowed to happen. If only because she needs to protect Alexandros, even if he refuses at times to protect himself.
It would be easy to be out of Kieran's reach as he makes a grab for her, but she allows him to take hold of her wrist. Feeling the fangs scrape against her skin, she trembles a little.
"Exactly."

~

Kieran gives a warm, smoky chuckle and runs his nose up her arm to nuzzle at the bend in the arm before nipping there lightly with his fangs. It's all a game between the two of them, but it's a fun one and Kieran does like to play.
"I'll keep Sera on The Priory," Kieran says. His words are business-like and professional, although he's speaking into her arm as he drags his lips back down and hovers them there over her wrist. "If we have to really push, I'm pretty sure that the detective is their weak link."
Kieran nips at the fleshy part of Samira's and, between the thumb and the wrist. "I'll step up my interrogations. Someone has to know or have seen something."
Beat.
"Don't worry, I will use the utmost discretion." It's not the fun way to do things, but he can restrain himself if required.

~

"Thank you, glika-mou.1" Samira sets her glass of bloodwine on the bench beside her and reaches for his wrist. Locking her eyes to his once more she drags her fang over his pulse point and then teases the area with her tongue.
"I will set up a meeting with Alexandros to try and convince him to share what information he may have so we better know how to deal with this." Whatever it happens to be.
"I will also have Ewan talk to Regina, or find us an unaffiliated witch."

~

Kieran makes a low, animal-like purr with the attention to his wrist, blue eyes darkening just a fraction. "You're setting out additional eyes and ears tonight?"

~

"I am. There are plenty of stray cats in the city, and quite a few in the park." Beyond the strays, she's setting up a few eyes and ears within the zoo as well, on the off chance whomever the culprit is decides to come over this fence to slip in and out. Bo, Zoe, and Chocolate will definitely let her know.
"Were you thinking of something different then?" Another nip of fang is given, because she does enjoy that noise that he's making. Then, Samira has always been fond of a purr.

~

"No, not as of yet." Kieran will be thinking about it, long and hard, figuring out where exactly there might be a crack to exploit within the ranks of the police or the usual humans, or even a way to manipulate their own into seeking out information.
She's rewarded with another purr at the nip, and then Kieran jerks and twists his hand, grasping her by the wrist and attempting to tug her closer. "You'll be among the first to know if I do think of something else."

~

No surprised gasp is forthcoming, but the fact that Samira releases his hand and allows him to tug her closer does speak volumes. Baring her fangs at him, she runs her tongue over them and then smiles.
"Good. Any information you or yours can obtain will be of great use to Alexandros, and of course you will be rewarded for it."

~

"Fair enough, luv." Kieran slides a hand around her waist, resting it against the small of her back. His face is very close to hers, eyes bright and inviting in the moonlight. "Now, instead of sitting around in the zoo all night, what say you that we go have a real drink?"
Beat.
"Ladies choice."

~

Samira drags a well-manicured nail down his cheek, causing a small rend to appear. Drawing her tongue over the wound toward his ear, she whispers, "Sanguine Desires."
Beat.
"The evening is young, and there is plenty of time to return here and take care of our four-legged spies."
