One of the easiest ways to become involved in on-going plots, or with other players is to post logs. Anything you post then becomes game canon, and gives something for staff to work with when plots are around.
Even if you don't want to be involved in the over-arcing plot of the game, you may just have a scene that you want to share with other players.
If so, why not post it to our logs list on the site? As Staff, we'd love to have as many scenes logged, posted, and shared as possible.
The following directions should help you in posting your log. If you're having trouble, or aren't sure what to do after reading this, just contact Staff on the game, and we'll gladly help you with it.
First Step
You're going to want to ensure that your log has been edited for posting. Clean out the OOC messages, pages, channel chatter, etc. If you're not using the auto-spacing code on the game, make sure that there is a distinct separation between each player's poses, either by a spaced line between them, or a ~, -, *, or other marker to indicate that another character is posing.
This makes the log easier to read.
Second Step
Once you have your log clean, click on the Logs link in the header. This will bring you to the main logs page.
On the right hand side of the page, you will see a section called Already know how to post a log?.
Directly under those words is an input box where you input the year, month, and IC day that the log took place. Before you put in a date with a -# (1, 2, 3, etc.) ensure that another log hasn't been posted with that same IC date.
If it hasn't, then your format will be:
YYYYMMDD-1
If it has, then your format will be:
YYMMDD-2 (or 3, or 4, etc.)
Third Step
After you've created your page (if you're doing it through the input box on the Logs page, it should automatically create it for you), you just fill in the blanks that it asks you.

So, what you would input here would look like:
May 14, 2012: This is an example of where you describe your log. Try to include the main part of what happened, and who was involved.

So what you would input here would look like:
Battery Park
Twenty-one acres of parkland can be found here in the southern tip of Manhattan. At the north end of the park is a large pier that was once a fireboat station. At the other end of the park is the Battery Gardens restaurant, which is located next to the United States Coast Guard Battery Building. Along the waterfront, ferries depart for the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island.

Fourth Section
<Insert RP Scene here.>
This is where you paste in your cleaned RP scene.
Fifth Section
The final step is tagging your log. Each log should be tagged with the first names of the characters that were involved in the scene. If an NPC or adoptable was used in the scene, the tag then becomes name-npc, or name-adoptable.
Each log should also be tagged with the location the scene took place. The most common places to tag, are located on the Places page. The page link is generally what you would tag with. (For example: battery-park).
Finally, you will want to tag the page with this: _YYYYMM
For our example, you'd put _201205
This ensures that the log appears properly on both character pages, and the logs section.
Good luck and happy logging!
